  What is www.orangepie.com?

www.orangepie.com is a website that offers free online greeting cards that can be sent to anyone on the Internet.


  What are E-cards?

E-cards, also known as electronic greeting cards, are emails that contain the greeting or message from the sender to the recipient. It is received as a plain text email and contains a URL (web address) which is the actual greeting card in its animated and musical form. An E-card functions just as a regular paper greeting card without the inconvenience of licking, stamping and finding a post office. Further, it is a free service and reaches the recipient's mailbox in a matter of seconds.


  Is this a Free Service?

Yes, this service is totally free of cost. You can now send your greetings to anyone across the globe using Orangepie E-cards absolutely free.


  How do I send a card?

Please follow the following procedure to send a card:

  1. There is a dropdown menu provided on the homepage which contains the list of all the categories available. Go to the category of your choice, for example, Birthday, Friendship, etc and select a card you would like to send.

  2. Enter your name and email address and your recipient's name and email address along with a personal text message.

    You can also send the same card to several recipients at the same time by inserting their names and email addresses in the appropriate locations, separated by a #. For example, if you want to send a card to two people whose names are abc and xyz having email addresses as abc@any.com and xyz@any.com then fill the details as below :

    Recipient(s) name : abc#xyz
    Recipient(s) email : abc@any.com#xyz@any.com

    You have the option of sending a common card to all your recepients by choosing the CC option whereby all your recipients' names will appear on a single card and the same card will be sent to each of the recipients. Each recipient will know the names of all other recipients to whom the card has been sent.

    The preferred option is BCC, which enables you to send the same card to many recipients simultaneously whereby a new card will be created for each of the recipients. Each card will contain only one recipient's name. For example, if you send a card to two recipients, two separate cards will be created and sent to their respective recipients.

  3. You can use the calendar option to set the date in advance for sending the card on any particular day within the next 30 days. Your card will be sent on the day selected by you.

  4. Click on Preview to view how the card will appear when received by your recipient. You may edit your message by clicking on Edit Card and preview your card again.

  5. Then click Send Card to send your card. The card will then be sent to your recipient instantaneously.

  6. The recipient will be notified by email that he/she has received a card from you and the same email will contain a link which connects the person to your card.

  7. Your card will be online for the next 3 months, during which the recipient may view it several times.


  How private will you keep my personal information?

The information you provide at the time of sending the card is used to customize your greeting with the recipient's name and your message, and to deliver an email notification to the recipient. We treat Orangepie greetings as private correspondence between the sender and the recipient and will not disclose the contents of an Orangepie greeting to anyone other than the intended recipient.   How do I view an Orangepie e-card I received?

To view your card you have two choices:

1. You have to click on the link provided to you in the email informing      you about the card. This link will take you to your card.
2. You can also copy the entire link to the Address/Location bar of your  browser.


  How many cards can I send from Orangepie?

There is no limit to the number of cards you send. You can send as many cards as you want. But please refrain from Spamming.


  Does the recepient need access to the Internet?

Yes, the recipient needs Internet access to view the card.


  How many days in advance can I send a card?

You can set the date to send a card a maximum of 30 days in advance.


  How long does it take to send a card?

Personalised Orangepie cards are created the moment you send the card. This process is instantaneous and varies according to the server speed and the recipient's email system.


 Can I get a copy of the card I sent?

When you send a card you have the option of receiving a copy, if you check the "Send me a copy of this card" box. If you send a card in advance, you will receive a copy of the card on the delivery date.

 Can I get notified when the card I sent has been viewed?

When you send a card you have the option of receiving a notification that the card you sent has been viewed, if you check the "Notify me when Recipient(s) views the Card " box.


  How do I know whether my card has been delivered or not?

After you send the card, you will immediately be taken to a page informing you that your card has been sent. In case you have given a non-existent email address for the recipient, your card will not be delivered and you will be informed in due course. If you have given a wrong email address for the recipient, which still exists and is someone else's email address, there is no way of informing you of the error unless the actual recipient responds and says that this card was probably not intended for him/her. In this case, you will be informed of the error and you may re-send the card with the recipient's email address corrected.


  Can I suggest any occasions or categories to be included on Orangepie?

Orangepie welcomes all suggestions from it's users and will try to create cards according to your request.


  I am unable to find a particualr card. How do I find it?

There is a dropdown menu provided on the homepage listing all the categories available. You can go to the suitable category and select the card of your choice.


  I sent a card for a later date. Can I delete it?

You can email us at webmaster@orangepie.com and inform us to delete your card. We can only delete your card if you inform us at least two days before the delivery date.


  Can I delete a card sent for delivery on the same day?

No, once you hit the Send Card button, an email is generated instanteneously for the recipient containing a link to your card and you cannot delete the card.


  I sent a card, but the recipient has not received any notification of the              card. What could be the problem?

The problem could be one or more of the following:
a) Your recipient's email address provided by you is incorrect.
b) Your recipient's mailing system is down.
c) Your recipient's Inbox is full and exceeding the capacity allowed by the email service provider.
d) Your recipient has filtered his/her email system whereby unsolicitated emails are not accepted, blocking mails from you or Orangepie.


  Why is it that the system is not accepting the email address I entered,               although it is correct?

Our system is developed in a manner that it only checks whether the email address is correct or not and not its existence. For example, the email address must contain an "@" sign. If this sign is not there, you will get an error message.

When sending one card to multiple recipients, please be sure that the number of recipients' names is equal to the number of recipients' email addresses and that you have inserted a "#" between adjacent names and also between adjacent email addresses.


  I received an Orangepie card but how do I know who sent it to me?

When someone sends you a card, you will receive an email with the Subject field, "Something Special For You!!!". This email contains the sender's name and email address and a link to view the card and personal message if any.


  How do I print a card?

You need to save the card on your computer and then print it out.


  Why can't I hear any music while looking at a card?

Please check your system configuration. You need to have a sound card, speakers, sound drivers and the necessary browser-plugins installed on your computer in order to listen to the music. Plugins are software that assists the browser in playing music and can be downloaded for free from the Internet.

Netscape Navigator 4.0 and above and Internet Explorer 4.0 and above have built-in plugins. If you still face any problems hearing the music, you may need to re-install your browser with all multimedia options configured.  


  Will you place quotations or themes created by me on your site?

Yes, we welcome quotations and themes created by our users. We will review them and put them up if found suitable. We regret that we do not put any authors' names on our site. By giving us your quotations or themes, you automatically give us the rights of ownership.


  Can I create my own card with my own choice of music and background?

We regret that we do not offer the option of creating your own card with your background music as we believe it is more convenient to just select and send a card without wasting time for selecting colors, music and other options. Our aim is to save your time by providing "ready to mail" attractive e-cards.


  How do I know what is new on Orangepie?

You can register yourself on Orangepie after which you will receive newsletters in your email informing you of the latest updates on Orangepie.


  I have registered myself on your site. How can I unregister if I so wish?

We hope that you are happy with our service and continue to be our valued member, but if you would like to unregister yourself from Orangepie, we have an Unregister option available on the Homepage.


  Can I link your site to my own homepage? From where do I get the link?

Yes, we would be happy if you add a link to Orangepie on your homepage. We have a wide range of banners available at http://www.orangepie.com/banner.htm and you may select whichever one(s) you like. You may also place text links if you wish. The HTML details are provided at the above address.


  I am unable to view your category of Flash cards. Why?

To view Flash cards, you need the Flash browser-plugin to be installed on your computer. You can download it for free from the Flash cards category at Orangepie.

Internet Explorer 5.0 and Netscape Navigator 4.5 and above already have the Flash plugins built-in to the browser.


  I have a question that this FAQ, the Orangepie Privacy Policy and the User       Agreement do not answer. How do I contact Orangepie?
